About the event
Algiers formed in 2009 in Atlanta by guitarist Lee Tesche, bassist Ryan Mahan and vocalist Franklin James Fisher. They combined their influences of Black gospel, soul-blues, funk, dub, punk, and Afro-funk to create a unique sound. In 2015, they released their debut album and later added drummer Matt Tong to the band.
Algiers collaborated with a diverse group of artists on their fourth album, SHOOK. The album is a vibrant and universal exploration of energy, featuring a range of voices and musical styles. A plurality of voices; a spiritual and geographical homecoming; a strategy of communion in a burning world; the story of an end of a relationship; an Atlanta front porch summer party. SHOOK offers an exhilarating and mind-expanding musical experience.
